Grand et Saint Lundi

Voici un extrait des lectures d'aujourd'hui:

- pour les Catholiques occidentaux:

Psaume 27(26),1.2.

Le Seigneur est ma lumière et mon salut ;
de qui aurais-je crainte ?
Le Seigneur est le rempart de ma vie ;
devant qui tremblerais-je ?

- Pour les Orthodoxes

Matthieu XIV (27 - 32)

Mais aussitôt Jésus leur parla en disant : « Ayez confiance, c'est moi, soyez sans crainte. »

Sur quoi, Pierre lui répondit : « Seigneur, si c'est bien toi, donne-moi l'ordre de venir à toi sur les eaux. ». « Viens », dit Jésus. Et Pierre, descendant de la barque, se mit à marcher sur les eaux et vint vers Jésus.  Mais, voyant le vent, il prit peur et, commençant à couler, il s'écria : « Seigneur, sauve-moi ! ». Aussitôt Jésus tendit la main et le saisit, en lui disant : « Homme de peu de foi, pourquoi as-tu douté ? ». Et quand ils furent montés dans la barque, le vent tomba.

Prions:

Seigneur, en ces temps troublés, en ces temps d'incertitude, de guerres, de conflits, de troubles même au sein des Eglises chrétiennes, donne à chaque Chrétien d'avoir confiance, en Toi et Ton Amour pur, en Ta présence toujours parmi nous, chaque jour et jusqu'à la fin des temps.

Seigneur Jésus Christ, Fils du Dieu vivant, tend nous la main, saisit nous et aide nous à croire. Nous croyons Seigneur, augmente en nous la Foi.

Matthew XIV (27-32)

But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying "Cheer up! It is I! Don't be afraid."

Peter answered him and said, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the waters."  He said, "Come!" Peter stepped down from the boat, and walked on the waters to come to Jesus. But when he saw that the wind was strong, he was afraid, and beginning to sink, he cried out, saying, "Lord, save me!" Immediately Jesus stretched out his hand, took hold of him, and said to him, "You of little faith, why did you doubt?" When they got up into the boat, the wind ceased.

Let us pray

Lord, in these troubled times, in these times of uncertainty, wars, conflicts and troubles even within the Christian churches, give each Christian to trust in You and your pure Love, in your presence always among us, every day and until the end of time.

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, hold out Your hand to us, seize us and help us to believe. We believe in God, increase faith in us.
